Goosers has in one place all the elements you need for a very enjoyable dining experience with family and friends. History of Killaloe Kilaloe (Cill Dalua), once the capital of Ireland (1002 A.D) nests strategically on the banks of the River Shannon, engulfed in panoramic splendor. This region of the Shannon is a paradise for both boating and fishing fraternity – its attraction world famous. The entire area is steeped in history, tradition and folklore. Its ecclesiastical origin can be traced back to the 7th century when St. Flannan first founded his monastic settlement here. Many relics of early Christianity and medieval origin still remain today and are of great touristic interest. Brian Boru, victor of the famous Battle of Clontarf and High King of Ireland for 1002 ’til 1014 was born and reared here. The illustrious past of this idyllic township has firmly established Killaloe in the Irish history journals. Today historic Killaloe is the essence of all that’s good in Irish Life – sailing, kayaking, fishing, shooting, cycling, walking trails, tradition and Irish hospitality.
