Anyone who knows Buncrana will know O’Flaherty’s – the popular traditional pub on the town’s Main Street. Now in its third generation, O’Flaherty’s is a friendly, family-run bar with a great atmosphere and somewhere you’ll always feel welcome whether you’re a local or a visitor to the seaside town. Owner Jean O’Flaherty has been at the helm for the last decade since the death of her husband Pauric who steadily built up the business from its roots as the Dunree Bar. With the help of their children including eldest son Pauric Óg, Jean and staff continue to make O’Flaherty’s a central hub for regulars and visitors alike. O’Flaherty’s of Main Street – a friendly, family-run bar. Sports fans can drop into the bar for all the top sporting events and of course there is the weekly Buncrana Lotto Draw. The pub, which is the home of GAA in the town, is there for you, whether you want to host a charity night at the races, a table quiz or any other informal get-together. With its impressive outdoor floral displays, particularly in the summer months and its trademark photo and memorabilia-lined walls inside, the pub is also the home of traditional Irish music. You can hear some of Ireland’s top musicians every Wednesday night. The session has been a midweek staple in Buncrana for years and always draws a crowd.
