Here at Nancy’s you will find a host of cosy rooms waiting to make you feel at home, and we hope that our helpful staff, delicious food, great Guinness and friendly atmosphere ensure that your first visit to Nancy’s will not be your last. The Mc Hugh family and all at Nancy’s look forward to welcoming you in person very soon! It is wheelchair accessible and child friendly. Pets are not allowed in the building but can be taken to the outdoor smoking area. A little bit of history… The McHugh family have owned Nancy’s for over seven generations, and it has managed to retain the traditional feel and family atmosphere that make people want to come back again and again. Originally named “Charles Mc Hugh’s”, the bar became known as Nancy’s generations ago, when the then owner passed away at a young age, leaving his wife Nancy to run the business and raise her family alone. A strong minded woman, Nancy helped the business go from strength to strength, and raised her family to continue doing so. In the much more recent past, we saw another strong woman at the helm when Margaret, mother of the current owner, take over after her husbands death and again saw Nancy’s grow in popularity with locals and visitors alike. Margaret’s love of antiques can be seen throughout the building, each room plays host to a different selection of her collected items, and they help Nancy’s feel like the very unique place it is. 2014 is shaping up to be a great year and Ardara is already buzzing with that summer feeling! Call in to Nancy’s on your next visit to our lovely little town, and sample some of the craft beers and ciders on offer, or try a tasty treat from our menu. We hope to see you soon!
